Butteryfly by Cambria Hebert

Drunken brawls. One-night stands.
No-show interviews. Toilet-papering my hoity-toity neighbor’s house.
Insulting my fans. Trashing hotel rooms.
What’s it take to become public enemy number one?
I just told you.
I’ve done all that and more.
My poor conduct got me on the Celebs Behaving Badly list
and ultimately ruined my career.
From the world’s number-one popstar to world’s most hated.
That’s me. Ten Stark.
Go underground, they said. Stay out of the spotlight.
Most importantly, stay out of trouble.
Everyone loves a good comeback story.
For once, I listened.
I met someone who didn’t know my name,
my face, or the bad behavior that defined me.
She taught me I wasn’t who everyone thought I was—everyone including me.
Then someone whispered my name and things got messy, as they always do.
Now I want her back.
I’m not a caterpillar, but a butterfly.
My wings are in full color, not just black and white.
But first, I have to shed my cocoon and fly.

4 Stars

OMGeeee! This book hits you right in the feelings! Right there, yep right there! OUCH! This is a feel-good story.

Ten is a rising star who takes a turn for the worse. His bad boy antics and shenanigans earn him a break from rock and roll. He is laying low with his uncle and cousin when he meets Violet. She changes everything for him. Or does he change everything for her?

Violet has no interest in the rocker who is coming to the art college. She just wants to draw and be left alone. Someone sneaks into the gallery she is sitting in. Not just anyone, Stark. The man who makes everything better, until he doesn't. Until the ugly truth comes out. Vi needs to figure out what he heart wants because she knows Start is in it to win it! Can Vi share Stark with the world? No, but she can share Ten with the world.

This is a great story of love and loss. Vi makes Stark see the world differently. She makes him feel. Vi, Stark, Nate, and the other characters were all well written and flushed out in the story. I fell in love with Stark. The rise and fall of the story had a nice arch, I didn't feel rushed at all with the ending. It came to a nice HEA on its own accord. Awe, sweeping!

It's not a deeply emotional book, it's light and fluffy and makes you feel like humanity hasn't been lost. This would be perfect to read after you read the news, to help lift your spirits.

Graham is my brother's best friend. He’s always been my protector and my confident because he accepts me the way I am—and not many do. I can’t imagine not having him in my life.
Our weekend together was supposed to be a celebration. I graduated from college, Graham got engaged and signed with a pro football team, and my brother landed his dream job. It should have been the best time of our lives.

Except that the weekend started with me walking in on Graham's fiancée going down on my brother.

I complicated the situation by having sex with Graham after that, but I wanted to comfort him and, damn, when I saw desire in his eyes—for me—I couldn’t say no. I’ve wanted him for so long.

Now he doesn’t want to see me. He says he has a darker side he needs to protect me from.

Where do we go from here? Do I try to pretend to be his friend again or push him to open up to me and possibly lose him forever?

Sleeping with one of my best friends was not exactly a brilliant idea. It made…
