Dangerous Secrets by Abbie Zanders

Two secret pasts... one passionate love story.

Taryn Malone is stranded, broke, and desperate for help. But even if the sexy bartender she's been eyeing offers her a job for the evening... even if he seduces her with his impossibly intense blue eyes... even if every fiber of her heart tells her to stay with him... she can't.

Because Taryn Malone doesn't exist.

Jake Callaghan has been running the family's Irish pub for years now. When he sees Taryn standing out alone in the rain, he does what he's been trained to do as a SEAL - he rescues her. It has nothing to do with her full, firm curves, or her loose, golden-blonde hair, or the way she brushes against him that sends lightning bolts through his body. It's just the right thing to do.

But both Taryn and Jake are hiding secrets from each other.Dangerous secrets. And neither one of them knows just how dangerous it can be to fall in love..

Taryn is moving, always on the move. No time to stop and smell the flowers or make permanent connections.

After car trouble, Taryn Malone finds herself in a small town in PA. She needs money and the local bar looks like it could use some help. But would it cost her life? Or those at the bar?

Jake can't take his eyes off Taryn, she's beautiful. He takes a protective stance and invites her stay with him at the bar and continue working for him. One night isn't enough and realizes this when she runs from him. Jake left his mouth run and now she's gone. The Callaghan brother's aren't just pretty faces, oh no they are a talented lot of men!

Can they get to Taryn before someone else does?

This is a soft romance. There are 2 sex scenes and a slow build up to love between Jake and Taryn. I understand her hesitation with Jake and the situation she is in. Why trust someone now? She's done fine on her own.

While I did enjoy it there were something that made me scratch my head. She had no money but drove an Audi. How did she manage that? Stole it, possibly?

I felt that the story between Kane and Jake was better in some regards because she trusted him and left her guard down. Not something she did with Jake. I was rooting for Kane at one point.

Overall a good read, that held my interest. This is a series I will finish. Not a one hit wonder. I can't wait to read about the other brothers!

  1. Thanks for reading and reviewing Dangerous Secrets, Amy! To answer your question, the Audi Taryn drove was more than 10 years old and pretty beat (hence the POS comments) so she picked it up dirt cheap at some backwoods garage that was happy to deal in cash and not overly concerned with paperwork. Hope this helps. - Abbie
