Stealing Mercury - Book Review

I love when authors reach out to me.  It's always exciting to know that they are looking at my blog, or found me some how.  Charlee Allden dropped me and email asking if I would be interested in reading her two books.  I quickly read the blurbs and was hooked!  I love anything to do with space and sex.  Both "S" words, I guess that's what does it for me!  The possibility of aliens out there and a potential way off this planets seems pretty appealing some days - like today!!  Especially after meeting Mercury, Diablo, and Carn.  Beam me up Scotty!

I have a major crush on Diablo even though he is a minor character, yes I love Mercury, but it was the deep brooding Diablo that captured me.

For 99cents this book is a steal!  It will be available on 5/11, you can preorder right now.   This took me less than 24 hours to read, because I just couldn't put it down.  Take the chance.  Hot alpha males, hot sex, M/F, M/F/M.

How is it that I'm the first person to leave a …

“Anger is like a thorn in the heart...the roar of my courage and the cold sweat of my fear.” ~Luca
Pyromania is an impulse control disorder [1] in which individuals repeatedly fail to resist impulses to deliberately start fires, [1] in order to relieve tension or for instant gratification.

Damon Luca, or Luca as they called him. I thought of him more as Damien, the fucking devil within these walls that now is my life. Dark, broody, and deadly to any woman. Mind-blowing, soul-shaking, raw sex appeal. He was a tall statured boy with broad shoulders and a pair of green eyes that set my soul on fire. His inky black hair framed his hard, chiseled features. He had the type of body that had no business being on a seventeen-year-old. I kne…

4Stars -
I've read for Mr. Garza before and LOVE his books. Anything having to do with a cult and the Elder's freak me out! I love it!

This a great YA book, not to gory, not to overly flashy. Just enough to let your imagination run wild! This is a story about 3 school friends who venture into a warehouse and stumble upon a cult. Something happens to AJ and…

Do you know what that stands for?

Go ahead and guess!  I dare you.

I’m not talking about computer logic, even though I could, but not now.  I’ll save that for a day when you are really bored out of your gourd!

No, it’s not Drake N Future.

As in I did not finish that book.  UGH!  I’m not a fan of DNF books.  Usually I can push through and finish, leave the review and quickly forget about the book.  But a DNF hangs over my head.

I don’t have many of these, but there are a few.  I even have a shelf on my GoodReads account for those unfortunate books.  It doesn’t even matter that some are in my genre of choice.  My DNF are like a disease, no rhyme or reason.  They can strike out of the blue.
Do I feel bad about them?  I used too, but then I realized that I can’t love all books.  That some books, characters, and plots aren’t for everyone.   I’ve embraced it now and I move on quickly with a quick slip to the DNF shelf and onto the next book.  Hoping that, thi…

Labor Day - Book Review

Awhile I ago I watched the movie Labor Day with Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin, be still my heart!  I was vaguely aware that the movie was based on a book, but never read the book.  I must say I loved the movie as much as I loved the book.  The book was so haunting, that it took me awhile to read, because I didn't want to rush it.  I wanted to cradle it and respect it like it deserved.

It felt good to hold a book in my hands, run my finger tips over the pages and think about who read the book before me.  Yes, I got it 2nd  hand.  Did they love the book as much as I did?  I sure hope so!
